Geaux Bearded 3rd Annual Beard & Mustache Competition in Baton Rouge!!!
Calling all beards, come one, come all, come on in. Yeah, you heard right.
It's that time again. Here is the official announcement about the 3rd Annual Beard and Mustache Competition. Check out this flyer (or jump to the bottom to watch the video):
It’s going to be Friday, October 23rd. The competition starts at 6.30. We're asking you to get there by 5.30 so you can get there, sign up and get ready in position. Again, it will be with our good friends at Rally Cap Brewing Company in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. So, as I said, try to get there by 5.30 to sign in.
As always, there will be several categories and $10 per category to enter. And the categories are… 🥁🥁🥁
Beard and Mustache Competition Categories
Kids' Creative: We need some kids to come and bring decorative beard artwork.
Whiskerina (the ladies category): We need you ladies to make some decorative beard artwork. Put it on and come on.
Then we have…
Full beard (0–6 inches)
Full beard (6–12 inches)
Full beard (12+ inches)
Finally, we have…
Mustache category
And, finally, Freestyle
Of course, it's going to be Olympic-style scoring. We'll have five judges as always.
AND we’re raising money for a great cause. After covering expenses, all proceeds are going to the Companion Animal Alliance of Baton Rouge, the Baton Rouge Animal Shelter.
We are really asking for folks to sponsor, show up, and show their support.
We are looking for businesses or individuals who will sponsor the event and help us raise money for the Baton Rouge Animal Shelter.

This year's event is returning for its third consecutive year as the Hair of the Dog Beard and Mustache Competition. The event is presented by Geaux Bearded, a Baton Rouge-based beard care brand. And this year, the beards are bigger, the mustaches are bolder, and the cause is worth growing for.
This event brings together the best beards, boldest mustaches, most creative facial hair, local businesses, and beard enthusiasts from across the Baton Rouge community for a night of fierce competition, questionable grooming decisions, and a whole lot of fun.
While the facial hair takes center stage, the real winner is Companion Animal Alliance, Baton Rouge's open intake animal shelter. This event helps raise critical funds to provide shelter, medical care, adoption services, and second chances for thousands of animals in our community.

Our goal, here's the goal, I need y'all to help me with this, ladies and gentlemen. It's a worthy cause. Our goal for 2026 is to raise $5,000 to help provide shelter, medical care, adoption services, and second chances for thousands of animals in our community.
